Why some get

FORSAKEN by GOD

If we forsake (deny) God, He will also forsake (deny) us. (2Tim 2:12)

Ezra 8:22 …The hand of our God is upon all them for good that seek Him; but His power and His wrath is against all them that forsake Him.

2Ch 15:2 The LORD is with you, while you be with Him; and if you seek Him, He will be found of you; but if you forsake Him, He will forsake you.

Jos 24:20 If you forsake the LORD, and serve strange gods, then He will turn and do you hurt, and consume you, after He has done you good.

John_6:66 From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.

Jer 23:39 Therefore, behold, I, even I, will utterly forget you, and I will forsake you, and the city that I gave you and your fathers, and cast you out of my presence.

1Ti_5:15 For some are already turned aside after Satan.

Heb_10:39 But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul

2Ti 4:10 For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world… (“What you did to the least of my brethren, you did to Me”)

Jer 17:13 O LORD, the hope of Israel, all that forsake You shall be ashamed, and they that depart from me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken the LORD, the fountain of living waters.

(Jer 15:6) You have forsaken me, saith the LORD, you are gone backward: therefore will I stretch out my hand against thee, and destroy thee; I am weary with repenting.

1Ch 28:9 Solomon, my son, know the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the LORD searches all hearts, and understands all the imaginations of the thoughts: If you seek Him, He will be found of you; but if you forsake Him, He will cast you off for ever.

Isa 1:28 The destruction of the transgressors and of the sinners shall be together, and they that forsake the LORD shall be consumed.

Jer 18:7 At what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, and to pull down, and to destroy it;

8 If that nation, against whom I have pronounced, turn from their evil, I will repent of the evil that I thought to do unto them. (Jonah 3:10)

9 And at what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to build and to plant it;

10 If it does evil in my sight, that it obeys not my voice, then I will repent of the good that I said I would benefit them with.

Eze 18:24 But when the righteous turns away from (forsakes) his righteousness, and commits iniquity, and does according to all the abominations that a wicked man does, shall he live? All his righteousness that he has done shall not be mentioned: he shall die in his trespasses and in his sin that he sinned.

25 Yet you say, “The way of the Lord is not equal.” [they teach: “The Lord doesn’t see your sins after you have a moment of faith.”] Hear now, O house of Israel (or, “O ye professing Christians”); Is not my way equal? are not your ways unequal?

26 When a righteous man turns away from his righteousness, and commits iniquity, and dies in sins; for his iniquity that he has done shall he die.

27 Again, when the wicked man turns away from his wickedness that he has committed, and does that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive.

28 Because he considers, and turns away from all his transgressions that he has committed, he shall surely live, he shall not die.

29 Yet the house of Israel says, “The way of the Lord is not equal.” O house of Israel, are not my ways equal? are not your ways unequal?

30 Therefore O house of Israel, the Lord GOD says: I will judge every one of you according to your ways. Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin.

31 Why will you die, O house of Israel? Cast away from yourselves all your transgressions and make yourselves a new heart and a new spirit.

32 For the Lord GOD says: I have no pleasure in the death of him that dies; wherefore turn yourselves and live.

(Today’s popular teaching in the churches is that God’s way is NOT just, fair, and equal. They say an unrighteous man can become righteous by faith, and gain eternal life, but that a righteous man CANNOT become an unrighteous man and lose eternal life. This teaching claims that: “The way of the Lord is unequal”.

Pro 28:4 They that forsake the law (that is, the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus; the perfect law of liberty) praise the wicked (they worship devils): but such as keep the (NT) law contend with them.

Isa 65:11 But ye are they that forsake the LORD, that forget my holy mountain, that prepare a table for that troop, (Gad: good luck; fortune; a Babylonian god) and thatfurnish the drink offering unto that number (Fate; Destiny; Meni. Calvinism teaches fate instead of consequences for sins)

Jonah 2:8 They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy. (“…in vain do they worship Me”)

Psalm 40:4 Blessed is that man that makes the LORD his trust, and respects not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.

Psa 119:53 Horror hath taken hold upon me because of the wicked that forsake thy law.

Those who forsake God’s word turn away to worship devils. By the things they do, they offer sacrifices to devils:

Rev 9:20 And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols…

1Ti 4:1 Now the Spirit speaks expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils

Rev 3:16 So then because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew you out of my mouth.

Psa 125:4 Do good, O LORD, unto those that be good, and to them that are upright in their hearts.

5 As for such as turn aside unto their crooked ways, the LORD shall lead them forth with the workers of iniquity (“depart from Me, all you who work iniquity”): but peace shall be upon the Israel of God.

Mat 13:41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;

42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

Pro 2:10 When wisdom enters into your heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto your soul;

11 Discretion shall preserve you, understanding shall keep you:

12 To deliver you from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaks froward things;

13 Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness;

14 Who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the frowardness (disobedience) of the wicked;

15 Whose ways are crooked, and froward in their paths:

16 To deliver thee from the strange woman, even from the stranger which flatters with her words;

17 Who forsakes the guide of her youth, and forgets the covenant of her God.

18 For her house inclines unto death, and her paths unto the dead.

19 None that go unto her return again, neither take they hold of the paths of life.

20 That you may walk in the way of good men, and keep the paths of the righteous.

Heb 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

Read Deut 31, from where the above quote was taken. In fact, read the whole chapter. It will give you a proper perspective. Moses had said God would not leave or forsake Israel, but there have always been conditions for blessings.

Deu 31:6 Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

And Moses told Joshua, who was FAITHFUL to God:

Deu 31:8 And the LORD, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.

Deu 31:16 And (then) the LORD said unto Moses: “Behold, you will sleep with your fathers; and this people will rise up, and go a whoring after the gods of the strangers of the land, whither they go to be among them, and will forsake me, and break my covenant which I have made with them.

17 Then my anger shall be kindled against them in that day, and I will forsake them, and I will hide my face from them, and they shall be devoured, and many evils and troubles shall befall them; so that they will say in that day, ‘Are not these evils come upon us, because our God is not among us?’”

Lam 5:20 Why do You forget us for ever, and forsake us for such a long time?

Because:

Eze 20:8 They rebelled against me, and would not hearken unto me: they did not every man cast away the abominations of their eyes, neither did they forsake the idols of Egypt: then I said, I will pour out my fury upon them, to accomplish my anger against them in the midst of the land of Egypt.

2Ch 7:19 But if you turn away, and forsake my statutes and my commandments, which I have set before you, and shall go and serve other gods, and worship them;

20 Then will I pluck you up by the roots out of my land which I have given you; and I will cast out of my sight this house, which I have sanctified for my name, and will make it to be a proverb and a byword among all nations.

21 And this house, which is high, shall be an astonishment to every one that passes by it; so that he shall say, “Why hath the LORD done thus unto this land, and unto this house?” 2Ch

7:22 And it shall be answered, “Because they forsook the LORD God of their fathers, which brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, and laid hold on other gods, and worshipped them, and served them: therefore hath he brought all this evil upon them.

Jos 24:16 And the people answered and said, God forbid that we should forsake the LORD, to serve other gods

2Ki 21:14 And I will forsake the remnant of mine inheritance, and deliver them into the hand of their enemies; and they shall become a prey and a spoil to all their enemies

15 Because they have done evil in my sight, and have provoked me to anger, since the day their fathers came forth out of Egypt, even unto this day.

(Deu 28:20) The LORD shall send upon you cursing, vexation, and rebuke, in all that you set your hand to do, until you be destroyed, and until you perish quickly; because of the wickedness of your doings, whereby you have forsaken me.

18 If there should be among you man, or woman, or family, or tribe, whose heart turns away this day from the LORD our God, to go and serve the gods of these nations; lest there should be among you a root that bears gall and wormwood;

19 And it come to pass, when he hears the words of this curse, that he blesses himself in his heart, saying, I shall have peace, though I walk in the imagination of mine heart, to add drunkenness to thirst:(A common excuse for sin is: “It’s not about what I DO; it’s about WHO I AM!”)

20 The LORD will not spare him, but then the anger of the LORD and his jealousy shall smoke against that man, and all the curses that are written in this book shall fall upon him, and the LORD shall blot out his name from under heaven.

21 And the LORD shall separate him unto evil out of all the tribes of Israel, according to all the curses of the covenant that are written in this book of the law:

22 So that the generation to come of your children that shall rise up after you, and the stranger that shall come from a far land, shall say, when they see the plagues of that land, and the sicknesses which the LORD hath laid upon it;

23 And that the whole land thereof is brimstone, and salt, and burning, that it is not sown, nor beareth, nor any grass grows therein, like the overthrow of Sodom, and Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboim, which the LORD overthrew in his anger, and in his wrath:

24 Even all nations shall say, Why has the LORD done this to this land? what does the heat of this great anger mean?

25 Then men shall say, Because they have forsaken the covenant of the LORD God of their fathers, which he made with them when he brought them forth out of the land of Egypt:

26 For they went and served other gods, and worshipped them, gods whom they knew not, and whom he had not given unto them:

27 And the anger of the LORD was kindled against this land, to bring upon it all the curses that are written in this book:

28 And the LORD rooted them out of their land in anger, and in wrath, and in great indignation, and cast them into another land, as it is this day.

Jdg 6:13 And Gideon said unto him, Oh my Lord, if the LORD be with us, then why is all this befallen us? and where are all his miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt? but now the LORD has forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.

Jdg 10:6 And the children of Israel did evil again in the sight of the LORD, and served Baalim, and Ashtaroth, and the gods of Syria, and the gods of Zidon, and the gods of Moab, and the gods of the children of Ammon, and the gods of the Philistines, and forsook the LORD, and did not serve him.

7 And the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel, and he sold them into the hands of the Philistines and the children of Ammon.

9 And Israel was sore distressed.

10 And the children of Israel cried unto the LORD, saying, We have sinned against thee, both because we have forsaken our God, and also served Baalim.

11 And the LORD said unto the children of Israel, Did not I deliver you from the Egyptians, and from the Amorites, from the children of Ammon, and from the Philistines?

12 The Zidonians also, and the Amalekites, and the Maonites oppressed you; and you cried to me, and I delivered you out of their hand.

13 Yet you have forsaken me, and served other gods: wherefore I will deliver you no more.

14 Go and cry unto the gods which ye have chosen; let them deliver you in the time of your tribulation.

15 And the children of Israel said unto the LORD, We have sinned: do thou unto us whatsoever seems good to You; deliver us only, we pray to You, this day.

16 And they put away the strange gods from among them, and served the LORD: and his soul was grieved for the misery of Israel.

1Sa 8:1 And it came to pass, when Samuel was old, that he made his sons judges over Israel.

3 And his sons walked not in his ways, but turned aside after lucre, and took bribes, and perverted judgment.

4 Then all the elders of Israel gathered themselves together, and came to Samuel unto Ramah,

5 And said unto him, Behold, thou art old, and thy sons walk not in thy ways: now make us a king to judge us like all the nations.

6 But the thing displeased Samuel, when they said, Give us a king to judge us. (Surely Samuel had known his sons were wicked.) And Samuel prayed unto the LORD.

1Sa 8:7 And the LORD said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them.

8 They have forsaken me, and served other gods. According to all the works which they have done, by which they forsook me, since the day that I brought them up out of Egypt even unto this day, they do also unto you.

(1Sa 12:10) And they cried unto the LORD, and said, We have sinned, because we have forsaken the LORD, and have served Baalim and Ashtaroth: but now deliver us out of the hand of our enemies, and we will serve thee.

1Ki 11:28 And Jeroboam was a mighty man: and Solomon made him ruler over all the house of Joseph.

29 And when they two were alone in the field the prophet Ahijah found him wearing a new garment;

30 And Ahijah caught it and rent it in twelve pieces:

31 And said to Jeroboam, Take ten pieces: for thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will rend the kingdom out of the hand of Solomon, and will give ten tribes to thee:

32 (But he shall have one tribe for my servant David’s sake, and for Jerusalem’s sake, the city which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel)

33 Because they have forsaken me, and have worshipped Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, Chemosh the god of the Moabites, and Milcom the god of the children of Ammon, and have not walked in my ways, to do that which is right in mine eyes, and to keep my statutes and my judgments, as did David his father.
1Ki 11:34 Howbeit I will not take the whole kingdom out of his hand: but I will make him prince all the days of his life for David my servant’s sake, whom I chose, because he kept my commandments and my statutes:
35 But I will take the kingdom out of his son’s hand (Reheboam), and will give ten tribes unto thee.
36 And unto his son will I give one tribe, that David my servant may have a light alway before me in Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen me to put my name there.
37 And I will take thee, and thou shalt reign according to all that thy soul desireth, and shalt be king over Israel.
38 And if thou wilt hearken unto all that I command thee, and wilt walk in my ways, and do that is right in my sight, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as David my servant did; that I will be with thee, and build thee a sure house, as I built for David, and will give Israel unto thee.

39 And I will for this afflict the seed of David, but not for ever.
40 Solomon sought therefore to kill Jeroboam. So Jeroboam fled into Egypt until the death of Solomon.

1Ki 18:17 And it came to pass, when Ahab met Elijah, that Ahab said unto him, Are you he that troubles Israel?
18 And he answered, I have not troubled Israel; but you have, and your father’s house, in that you have forsaken the commandments of the LORD, and you have followed Baalim.

1Ki 19:10 And Elija said to the Lord, I have been very jealous for the LORD God of hosts: for the children of Israel have forsaken your covenant, thrown down your altars, and slain your prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away.
14 And Elijah said again, I have been very jealous for the LORD God of hosts: because the children of Israel have forsaken your covenant, thrown down your altars, and slain your prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek to take away my life also.

2Ki 22:8 And Hilkiah the high priest told Shaphan the scribe, I have found the book of the law in the house of the LORD. And Hilkiah gave the book to Shaphan, and he read it.
10 Then Shaphan read it to the king,
11 And when the king heard the words of the book of the law, he rent his clothes.
13 And the king said, Go, enquire of the LORD for me, and for the people, concerning the words of this book that was found: for great is the wrath of the LORD that is kindled against us, because our fathers have not hearkened unto the words of this book, to do according unto all that which is written concerning us.
14 So Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam, and Achbor, and Shaphan, and Asahiah, went unto Huldah the prophetess, and they communed with her.
15 And she said, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel,
16 Behold, I will bring evil upon this place, and upon the inhabitants thereof, even all the words of the book
2Ki 22:17 Because they have forsaken me, and have burned incense unto other gods, that they might provoke me to anger with all the works of their hands; therefore my wrath shall be kindled against this place, and shall not be quenched
.
18 But to the king of Judah which sent you to enquire of the LORD, thus shall ye say to him, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, As touching the words of the book which thou hast heard;
19 Because your heart was tender, and you have humbled yourself before the LORD, when you heard what I spoke against this place and it’s inhabitants, that they should become a desolation and a curse, and have rent your clothes, and wept before me; I also have heard you, saith the LORD.
20 Behold therefore, I will gather you unto your fathers, and you shall be gathered into your grave in peace; and your eyes shall not see all the evil which I will bring upon this place.

2Ch 12:1 And it came to pass, when Rehoboam had established the kingdom, and had strengthened himself, he forsook the law of the LORD, and all Israel with him.

2Ch 12:2 And because they had transgressed against the LORD, then in Rehoboam’s fifth year, Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem,

3 With twelve hundred chariots, and threescore thousand horsemen: and the people were without number that came with him out of Egypt;
4 And he took the fenced cities, and came to Jerusalem.

5 Then Shemaiah the prophet came to Rehoboam, and to the princes of Judah, that were gathered together to Jerusalem because of Shishak, and said unto them, Thus saith the LORD, Because you have forsaken me, therefore have I also left you in the hand of Shishak.

2Ch 13:4 And Abijah stood up upon mount Zemaraim, which is in mount Ephraim, and said, Hear me, Jeroboam, and all Israel;

5 Shouldn’t you know that the LORD God of Israel gave the kingdom over Israel to David for ever, even to him and to his sons by a covenant of salt?

6 Yet Solomon’s servant Jeroboam rose up and rebelled against his lord.

7 And there are gathered unto him vain men, the children of Belial, who have strengthened themselves against Rehoboam, Solomon‘s son, when Rehoboam was young and tenderhearted, and could not withstand them.

8 And now you think to resist the kingdom of the LORD that is in the power of David’s sons, when among your great multitude there are golden calves, the (vain) gods which Jeroboam made for you.

9 Haven’t you cast out the priests of the LORD, the sons of Aaron, and the Levites, and made for yourselves (foolish) priests like the heathen nations have? so that whoever comes to consecrate himself with a young bullock and seven rams, the same may be a priest of false gods?

2Ch 13:10 But as for us, the LORD is our God, and we have not forsaken him.

11 And they burn unto the LORD every morning and every evening burnt sacrifices and sweet incense: the showbread also set they in order upon the pure table; and the candlestick of gold with the lamps thereof, to burn every evening: for we keep the charge of the LORD our God; but ye have forsaken him.

(Isa 2:6) Therefore You have forsaken your people the house of Jacob, because they be replenished from the east, and are soothsayers like the Philistines, and they please themselves in the children of strangers.

2Ch 24:20 And the Spirit of God came upon Zechariah the son of Jehoiada the priest, and said unto them, Thus saith God, Why transgress ye the commandments of the LORD, that ye cannot prosper?because ye have forsaken the LORD, he hath also forsaken you. p>

2Ch 24:24 For the army of the Syrians came with a small company of men, and the LORD delivered a very great host into their hand, because they had forsaken the LORD God of their fathers. So they executed judgment against Joash.

2Ch 28:6 For Pekah the son of Remaliah slew in Judah an hundred and twenty thousand in one day, which were all valiant men; because they had forsaken the LORD God of their fathers.

2Ch 29:3 He in the first year of his reign, in the first month, opened the doors of the house of the LORD, and repaired them.

4 And Hezekiah brought in the priests and the Levites,

5 And said unto them, Hear me, ye Levites, sanctify yourselves now, and sanctify the house of the LORD God of your fathers, and carry forth the filthiness out of the holy place.

6 For our fathers have trespassed, and done that which was evil in the eyes of the LORD our God, and have forsaken him, and have turned away their faces from the habitation of the LORD, and turned their backs.

7 Also they have shut up the doors of the porch, and put out the lamps, and have not burned incense nor offered burnt offerings in the holy place unto the God of Israel.

8 Wherefore the wrath of the LORD was upon Judah and Jerusalem, and he hath delivered them to trouble, to astonishment, and to hissing, as ye see with your eyes.

9 For, lo, our fathers have fallen by the sword, and our sons and our daughters and our wives are in captivity for this.

Ezr 9:10 And now, O our God, what shall we say after this? for we have forsaken your commandments

Neh 13:11 Then contended I with the rulers, and said, Why is the house of God forsaken? And I gathered them together, and set them in their place.

Jer 5:7 How shall I pardon you for this? your children have forsaken me, and sworn by them that are no gods: when I had fed them to the full, they then committed adultery, and assembled themselves by troops in the harlots’ houses.

Jer 5:19 And it shall come to pass, when ye shall say, Wherefore doeth the LORD our God all these things unto us? then shalt you answer them, Like as ye have forsaken me, and served strange gods in your land, so shall ye serve strangers in a land that is not yours.

Jer 19:4 Because they have forsaken me, and have estranged this place, and have burned incense in it unto other gods, whom neither they nor their fathers have known, nor the kings of Judah, and have filled this place with the blood of innocents ;

Jer 22:9 Then they shall answer, Because they have forsaken the covenant of the LORD their God, and worshipped other gods, and served them.

2Pe 2:15 Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness

Deu 5:32 Ye shall observe to do therefore as the LORD your God hath commanded you: ye shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left.

Deu 11:16 Take heed to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and ye turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them;

17 And then the LORD’S wrath be kindled against you, and he shut up the heaven, that there be no rain, and that the land yield not her fruit; and lest ye perish quickly from off the good land which the LORD giveth you.

26 Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse;

27 A blessing, if you obey the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you this day:

28 And a curse, if you will not obey the commandments of the LORD your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods…

Deu 17:15 You should only set a king over yourselves, whom the LORD your God shall choose: one from among your brethren; you may not set a stranger over yourselves, which is not your brother.

16 But he shall not multiply horses to himself, nor cause the people to return to Egypt,

17 Neither shall he multiply wives to himself, neither shall he greatly multiply to himself silver and gold, that his heart turn not away.

18 And he shall write him a copy of this law in a book out:
