This is why it’s necessary to examine your course. Do you have any literature? (From “Grace Bible College”, where he claims he completed a course)

It seems abundantly clear to me (when nothing else he says is) that Hilton desires to keep me in the dark on every question I ask, but clearly states he wants money. He has no problem telling me in English why he thinks he needs money. He must be aware that he jeopardizes his income if he says the wrong thing, so he refuses to answer anything about what he teaches, what he was taught, where the school that supposedly gave him a pastor certificate is located, or it’s phone number so i can verify his claim.. He claims his connection is slow and his English is not good.

Jimmy Miller, Founder of GMFC, must have assumed the authority to command me to cease communication with Hilton, then either (or also) blocked or unfriended me, and has not replied to my Feb 7 email, which I sent again on Saturday Feb 14th.

I will no longer support his ministry, or anyone else’s who refuses to answer my questions.

I sent an email to Jimmy Miller on Feb 7th, 2015, but he has not yet responded to it. Patti sent him a pm apologizing for anything she may have said that he took offense at, and he replied to her, saying he would correspond with us, but he has yet to do so. It is now May 25, 2015

Yesterday, May 24th, Jimmy Miller told me to never contact him again.

    We each have different gifts and yours may be for justice or correction, be well.

    This could be a language issue. He may introduce himself as pastor H.B. but prefer you to just call him Hilton.

    It is possible that H.B. is not who he says he is. But it is also possible that Marvin and Jimmy are seeking to discover more about him.

    I would imagine that any new ministry has kinks to work out, and these take time. Can you imagine if the Apostle Paul was judged by the state of the Corinthian church? People might have thought he was a fake, had they not realized that growth takes time and much patient teaching/learning.

  • Alan Ray When a pastor evades any and every question asked about what he teaches, how he spends donated funds, if he pastors a church or not, where and what he was taught, why he thinks he’s qualified to be a pastor…. and the overseeing ministry attacks the person who THEY ASKED to monitor that pastor when he reveals these facts- with evidence, there is no doubt a great problem that should not be dismissed as if they are truly working out the kinks. They have HUGE kinks they REFUSE to address.
  • Melissa Sharon I agree that the problem shouldn’t be dismissed. However, if the overseeing ministry deems that you are too impatient to be helpful, they may be trying to fix the problem themselves.

  • Alan Ray Miller said he would answer Patti and my questions in FEBUARY, and yet he refuses. He and Kerrigan now think i have not truly repented, and think i should drop it all completely. Then let someone else ask them what Hilton is teaching, or ask Hilton themselves [be sure to ask him about his FAMILY FIRST, for that is a prerequisite according to Marvin and Jimmy that qualifies you to probe Hilton] and see if they will provide evidence of that and of where all those donations are going.
  • Melissa Sharon Unless you are 100% certain that H.B. has been found truly guilty of withholding information and deceiving, I don’t think continual FB exposes are wise or righteous. There are 2 reasons I’m not convinced that H.B. is a fraud (though he might be)–

    1.) The language barrier, and your admitted impatience with him.
    2.) The fact that the overseeing ministry may have done their own examination of him since your examination of him, found it satisfactory, and not taken you into their confidence due to the strife between you.

  • Melissa Sharon Ray, I see their point of view. You apologized and asked forgiveness. Then you brought it up again repeatedly. Obviously there is a disagreement, but we can’t control other believers.

    I understand you still think H.B. is a fraud, and that’s possible. However you can’t control how other people operate in ministry. I believe in trying to control through repeated emails and “exposes,” you have made it so that they don’t want to deal with you anymore. This does not mean they aren’t looking into H.B. further. Unfortunately, their not dealing with you anymore only confirms in your mind that they aren’t trying to do the right thing.

  • Melissa Sharon Your calling them a “cult” and saying they “live on a compound” etc. is also not helpful, and does not demonstrate an honest attempt to understand them. There was a time when you and Patti and I talked about how we’d love to all live and minister together.
  • Alan Ray Melissa you are grossly mistaken to continue to assume that i ever apologized for asking Hilton to be accountable, as I have already said i never have, and yes, i bring that issue up again and again because it has not been resolved. Have you forgotten that Marvin explicitly said he and Jimmy OWE ME NO ACCOUNTABILITY? I was told to shut up. This is the very way the three cults I’ve been part of over the space of 10 years taught me how cults operate.The Lord opened my eyes to their manipulation and intimidation methods by allowing me to be a part of them until I learned my lesson so well I was qualified to warn others.

Now, especially after having been warned about Hilton Biswar, if you continue to support that ministry, knowing how I have been treated after revealing my findings to it, having been falsely accused, rejected, silenced, condemned as a “child of the devil”, and threatened with legal action if i continue revealing those findings and the other hateful responses from the leaders, you are a partaker of those evil deeds.

But they have attempted to control me by those things. And they are very frustrated that their intimidation and forbidding me to speak have not been successful.
Alan Ray I have absolutely no hope to someday control the Children of God cult, the Jim Roberts cult, or the James Butler cult I was once part of. This collection of verses from the Bible show what scripture concerning the idea that a Christian MUST attend some denominational (or non-denominational) “church service” to qualify as a Christian. Given the present distress of the great “falling away”, and the vast multitude of churches affected, the Bible debunks that argument, and the misuse of Heb 10:25 [commonly used to support it]. Going to a church is a sacrifice

Hoshi'ana

As I listened to the State of the Union address last night, and considered the recitation of successes by the current administration, I considered that none of these speeches acknowledged the Almighty.  If America were so healed and prosperous, why do we continue to see worldwide devastations? Poverty? War? Abortion? All manner of sin?

Could it be we are judging by man’s standards and not God’s? Do we gauge success by a decreased unemployment roll or new business starts? These things may be good, yes, but is God in the mix? Are good things happening to America because of her godliness?

Or is this just a farce? Is the wool being pulled over citizens’ eyes to believe we have peace and safety?

There is no peace for the wicked and that is scripture. Peace will never come as long as we are slaughtering the unborn and funding them through…

SAVE YOURSELF

2 Kings 6:10 And the king of Israel sent to the place which the man of God told him and warned him of, and saved himself [8104] there, not once nor twice.
Notice what we find Strong says where we read someone saved himself 8104

How often do we hear You can’t save yourself! Jesus did it all? But Jesus, Peter, Paul, John, James and Jude all told us in so many words to save ourselves by taking heed to the Word of God.

Act 2:37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

Notice that Peter did not give these men the answer which so many pastors and lukewarm (professing) Christians give to people today, who would ask the same question! He did NOT tell them There’s nothing you can do! Jesus did it all! You can’t add to the finished work of the cross!

Act 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.
Act 2:41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

Did not these honest seekers of salvation save themselves by obeying the gospel? It’s the WORD that saves those who gladly receive it, isn’t it? So by receiving the Word, they DID save themselves as Peter taught them to do.

Mar 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

Mat 24:4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.

Jas 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

1Ti 4:16  Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.
Does the Word save those who reject it? Do not they damn themselves by refusing to DO it? Will not God judge every man according to the works he chooses to do or not to do?

Jas 1:21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.

James sure never told the church there’s nothing you can do!

The Universalist insists that no one will be lost. He denies anyone can choose to save himself, since he denies anyone will be lost and cast into the lake of fire.

IF Jesus did it all, then wouldn’t EVERYONE be saved? If there is nothing you can do, as many assert, then either:

1. no one is given the opportunity to repent and obey Jesus,

or

2. that neither repentance or obedience are necessary, and Peter’s answer was WRONG!

If there’s nothing you do, then Jesus wasted His breath when He said:

  Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Mat 7:21

If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it. Luk 9:24

Luk 9:25 For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself (lose his own soul Mat 16:26), or be cast away?

Isn’t Jesus saying here how we must save ourselves so that we don’t lose our own soul and become cast away? Is it not by losing our lives that we save our lives?
It appears clear from Lk 9:25 and Matthew 16:26 that a person may become rich in this world and lose his own soul and become a castaway. Isn’t Jesus warning against doing this? Then there IS something we can and must do to be saved according to Jesus. Most are taught to reject Christ’s teachings, which are derided as a “works gospel” or a “works based salvation”.

Tit 1:16  They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

How can a living, working, obedient faith in the words of Jesus deny the atonement Jesus accomplished on the cross?

Jas 2:14  What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can [dead] faith save him?

Jas 2:26  For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

Luk 9:26 For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father’s, and of the holy angels.

If we say there’s nothing we can do, aren’t we ashamed of Christ’s words, which tell us what we MUST do to save ourselves? If we’re ashamed of all Christ’s and His apostle’s warnings, and of every ‘if’ (which shows that every promise is conditional), how shall we stand before the Father and the angels on judgment day, when we will give account for every word we spoke and every act we did?

If we deny Him, He will also deny us. If we don’t believe that truth because we’ve made a covenant with death by believing once saved always saved, will that lie we’ve chosen to hide behind change God’s mind, and will He deny Himself, and not be faithful to DO what He said He would do to those who deny Him?

2Ti 2:12 If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:
2Ti 2:13 If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.

Isa 30:1 Woe to the rebellious children, saith the LORD, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin
Isa 30:3 Therefore shall the strength of Egypt [the flesh] be your shame, and the trust in the shadow of Pharoah[men] your confusion.

The “strength of Egypt” are the lies of the unsaved and hypocrites. It is confusion. The rebellious embrace this foolish and carnal counsel, and hide behind it like an ostrich with her head in a hole. It is a false sense of security. They add sin to sin, deceived into believing God can’t see their sins.

Eze 9:9 Then said he unto me, The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceeding great, and the land is full of blood, and the city full of perverseness: for they say, The LORD hath forsaken the earth, and the LORD seeth not.

2Tim 3:5 They only appear to have a godly life, but they will not let the power of godly living change them. Stay away from such people.

2Co 11:13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ.
2Co 11:14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is disguised as an angel of light.
2Co 11:15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be disguised as ministers of righteousness; but their end will be according to their works.
2Co 11:4 (GNB) For you gladly tolerate anyone who comes to you and preaches a different Jesus, not the one we preached; and you foolishly accept a spirit and a gospel completely different from the Spirit and the gospel you received from us!

Gal 3:1  O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, after you clearly understood that Jesus Christ had been crucified?

Both the Galatians and the Corinthians were failing to save themselves from the lies of the false teachers. Similarly, this is also a great problem in most churches today. Many think they should be ‘nice’, and not confront false teachers and known sinners, or demand that they speak only scriptural doctrine and live godly. They let being ‘nice’ be their standard of conduct rather than the commands of Christ and the apostles, which tell us to forsake such an apostate.

Friends, SAVE YOURSELF from the lameness of being nice to false teachers and their lukewarm followers, and GET OUT OF those apostate churches, even if it means forsaking friends, relatives, a job, a wife, children, father, mother, opportunities, whatever. If your hand (deeds) cause you to offend God, CUT IT OFF AND CAST IT FROM YOU; it’s better to enter life without giving the right hand of fellowship to them than to hear Jesus tell you on that day “DEPART FROM ME, ALL YOU WHO WORK INIQUITY”, and be cast into hell, where the worm dies not and the fire is not quenched. Jesus said His mother, brothers, and sisters are only those who hear God’s Word and DO it, not just for a moment, but who endure sound doctrine, persecution, and hardships to the end.

If we won’t hear and do what Jesus said: to separate from those who would interfere with His commandments and cause people to trust in a lie; to let them alone; to “come out of her my people, that you be not partakers of her sins, that you receive not of her plagues”, then we are but bastards, having forsaken being God’s sons or daughters. We MUST save ourselves from the ungodly; we MUST come out from among them and be separate, and touch not the unclean thing for God to receive us and be our Father.

This is no Sunday game or Saturday sport. Jesus hates lukewarmness; He said He will spew them out of His body who refuse to repent, and remain lukewarm.

1Ti 4:16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.

Rev 2:14 But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication.

Rev 2:15 So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate.

Rev 2:16 Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.

Rev 2:20 Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.

Rev 2:22 Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.

I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead.

Rev 3:2 Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God.

Rev 3:3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.

Rev 3:4 Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.

Rev 3:5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

Rev 3:18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.

Rev 3:19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.

Rev 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

Jesus certainly never told any of these churches: There’s nothing you can do! I paid it all! You can’t add to the finished work done on the cross! Any works you do would only be a lame attempt to do so! You’re not under any law! I died to set you free from every law, even from every commandment I gave! You can’t do what I commanded, that’s why I had to go to the cross!

Paul said:

1Ti 6:3 If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;

1Ti 6:4 He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,

1Ti 6:5 Perverse disputing of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

We MUST save ourselves from this untoward generation.

Denying the scriptural FACT that believers who die are sleeping in Jesus till judgment day, OSAS teacher David J. Smith posts at his website:

Acts 7:54-59 concerning the murder of Stephen…

Act 7:54  When they heard these things, they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed on him with their teeth.
Act 7:55  But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God,
Act 7:56  And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.
Act 7:57  Then they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and ran upon him with one accord,
Act 7:58  And cast him out of the city, and stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man’s feet, whose name was Saul.
Act 7:59  And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.

Smith posts unnecessary verses, yet OMITS the key verse – v60!!

 Act 7:60  And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.

  Elsewhere, Smith reveals his mindset to make statements not backed up by scripture in this statement:

“In Luke 15:10 we read, “Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.” The Bible doesn’t say that the angels rejoice, although I’m certain they do. It says that there’s rejoicing “in the presence of the angels.” I believe this refers to Christians already in Heaven, i.e., the family in Heaven.” [emphasis mine]

 

It’s more evident in that verse that it’s ANGELS rejoicing in heaven now, rather than “Christians already in Heaven”. But what about the scores of other verses Smith ignores?

Smith: “Moses had been dead (Deuteronomy 34:5) for fifteen centuries; yet, despite being dead, he is able to speak to Jesus. Clearly, Moses’ soul was not asleep in the grave. The same is true of Elijah, who centuries earlier had been caught up in a whirlwind (2nd Kings 2:11). Elijah was still conscious.”

 

So we must assume that Moses and Elijah had to be conscious in heaven for centuries, or they couldn’t have appeared in a vision for a few moments? Is our God is that limited?  Must we deny Christ’s power to wake them up from sleep any time he pleased, (as he did a little girl and Lazarus, Mary and Martha’s brother) in order to teach his disciples a lesson? 

Deu_31:16  And the LORD said unto Moses, Behold, thou shalt sleep with thy fathers

God told Moses he would sleep with his fathers, but Smith denies he did.

Are we to also believe that Lazarus [Mary and Martha’s brother] was conscious during those four days he was dead, and that he went to heaven during that time? If so, is it unreasonable to question why the gospel writers recorded absolutely NOTHING in scripture from Lazarus about his 4 day visit there, and what heaven was like? Was no one even interested? 

Shall we also ignore the fact that JESUS HIMSELF said Lazarus was SLEEPING [meaning dead]?

Joh 11:11  These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.
12  Then said his disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well.
13  Howbeit Jesus spake of his death: but they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep.
14  Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead.

Both good and evil kings died and slept with their fathers in the grave, and we have no less than 39 verses to confirm that fact.

Act_13:36  For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption:

 1Ki_2:10  So David slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David.
1Ki_11:21  And when Hadad heard in Egypt that David slept with his fathers… 
1Ki_11:43  And Solomon slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David his father: and Rehoboam his son reigned in his stead.
1Ki_14:20  And the days which Jeroboam reigned were two and twenty years: and he slept with his fathers, and Nadab his son reigned in his stead.
1Ki_14:31  And Rehoboam slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David.
1Ki_15:8  And Abijam slept with his fathers; and they buried him in the city of David: and Asa his son reigned in his stead. 1Ki_15:24  And Asa slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father: and Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his stead.
1Ki_16:6  So Baasha slept with his fathers, and was buried in Tirzah: and Elah his son reigned in his stead.

Dan_12:2  And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

Not all believers will die and sleep in the grave before Christ’s second coming:

1Co_15:51  Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed [into immortal beings at the last trump, on the last day.]

1Th_4:14  For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him [back to heaven, just as when Jesus rose to go there. They won’t come here from heaven, as most are erroneously taught, because they sleep in the grave now, waiting to hear Christ’s voice at the last trump, at which time they will be made immortal as they rise to go to heaven.]

Dan_12:2  And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

Joh 5:28  Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
29  And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation. 

Most pastors take a few verses out of context, completely ignoring all the above verses, falsely teaching that Christians go directly to heaven upon death, by-passing judgment day. They say only the lost will be judged after death.

The following passage is often sited as evidence that Christians don’t go to sleep in the grave:

2Co 5:1  For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved [that is, if we die], we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. [immortal body]
2Co 5:2  For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven [an immortal body]:

2Co 5:3  If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked.
2Co 5:4  For we that are in this tabernacle [body] do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life. [We’ll compare this verse with 1Cor 15:51-54 below]
2Co 5:5  Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit.

2Co 5:6  Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, while we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:
2Co 5:7  (For we walk by faith, not by sight🙂

2Co 5:8  We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
2Co 5:9  Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.
2Co 5:10  For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. [nobody is already judged].
2Co 5:11  Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men [to get prepared for judgment day by obeying 2 Cor 6:1 & 7:1]

Heb 9:27  … it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment

Sure, we know that after death, we have the promise of a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens [Heb 9/;15; 1Jn 2:25]~ IF we endure to the end and don’t depart from the faith [Matt 10:22], walk in the Spirit, deny the flesh [Mat 10:38], and bring forth good fruit [Mat 7:19]. Judgment day ahead will either confirm or negate whether we did or didn’t, one way or the other.[Jn 12:48; Act 17:31]

Many professing Christians are very “at home in the body”, that is, they live after the flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, even as others [Eph 2:3] who don’t even profess to believe in Jesus. These deceived souls WILL be found naked and ashamed come judgment day. They fail to overcome by an acceptable faith. They are friends with the world and therefore enemies of God, while believing they are given liberty [because of the blood of Christ], to live however they please. They embrace Satan’s first lie – “Ye shall not surely die”[Gen 3:3-4] and “do what thou wilt” [Aliester Crowley], – in place of the true gospel, but believe the lie IS the gospel. This encourages them to believe they can watch violent, sexually explicit, blasphemous, evil TV and movies for entertainment, listen to music that glorifies sin, and to think it makes no difference which church they attend, or which pastor they hear or support, so long as they go along with the program peacefully, and attend church SOMEWHERE, ANY church, and tithe to somebody. They go to church, pay tithes, prepare church dinners, decorate Christmas trees, give gifts, and have church Easter egg hunts. They will say to Jesus, “Lord, Lord, did not we celebrate your birthday and your resurrection annually, build huge beautiful church buildings to teach millions of souls about what our seminary-taught preachers believed, didn’t we have revivals, didn’t we get slain in the spirit, bark, cluck, moo, or oink, didn’t we sprinkle babies, and baptize people according to the method of their choice; didn’t we elect Christian presidents, didn’t we warn people about JWs and Mormons (at least until a Mormon was a better choice than Obama, you know Lord, we HAD to vote the “lesser of two evils”!), didn’t we fight many wars for Christian politicians and religious leaders (umm, Lord, nobody’s perfect, at least Bush said he was TOLD there were WMDs in Iraq), didn’t we support our troops, praying for their victories…

When we are “at home in the body”, we are indeed absent from the Lord, for we should walk by faith, not by sight. But those who are at home in the body DO walk by sight. Jesus said he would be IN us:

Joh 14:15  If ye love me, keep my commandments.
Joh 14:16  And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
Joh 14:17  Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
Joh 14:18  I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
Joh 14:19  Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.
Joh 14:20  At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.
Joh 14:21  He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
Joh 14:22  Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?
Joh 14:23  Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
Joh 14:24  He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings

Those who walk by sight don’t walk by faith; they seek an earthly kingdom instead of an heavenly one; they work to please men and the flesh; they receive praise and honor of men. Many support Zionism. These things disqualify people from being worthy of God’s kingdom.

1Jn 2:15  Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
1Jn 2:16  For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
1Jn 2:17  And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

Jas 4:1  From whence come wars and fightings among you? [from FAITH?] come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members?
Jas 4:2  Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
Jas 4:3  Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.
Jas 4:4  Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

Loving this present evil world is spiritual adultery. Wars come not from God, but from lust and pride. Friends of these are not in Christ, and will pass away with those evils, for God’s love does not abide in them. They are indeed “absent from the Lord” as he is from them. When God neither lives in nor walks with someone, that person is absent from the Lord, because he’s at home walking in the flesh.

2Co 6:14  Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? 2Co 6:15  And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? 2Co 6:16  And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 2Co 6:17  Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, 2Co 6:18  And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

Rom 8:5  For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. Rom 8:6  For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Rom 8:7  Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. Rom 8:8  So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
Rom 8:9  But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

Rom 8:10  And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
Rom 8:11  But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken [raise up] your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
Rom 8:12  Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.
Rom 8:13  For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

So let’s not be at home in this body. Let’s be pilgrims and strangers here.

Let’s now consider 2Cor 5:4, comparing it with 1Cor 15:

2Co 5:4 For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed [without a body], but clothed upon [made like Jesus is now], that mortality might be swallowed up of life.

Does this change of bodies take place the same day a Christian dies, or will we all sleep in the grave until the last trump /  judgment, when we’ll all stand before the judgment seat of Christ? Don’t many pastors teach that believers won’t be judged, and that we were “already judged” when Jesus died, because, they say “Jesus took our place on the cross” [which is not taught in scripture anywhere]?

1Co 15:50  Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
1Co 15:51  Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, [which CLEARLY shows that some WILL sleep!] but we shall all be changed,
1Co 15:52  In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, AT THE LAST TRUMP: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
1Co 15:53  For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
1Co 15:54  So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, THEN shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. (mortality will then be swallowed up by life).

So then, do we groan for the day we will be unclothed [our dying day], or for the day we’ll be clothed upon [the day we’ll be made immortal]?

2Co 5:4  For we that are in this tabernacle [the physical body] do groan, being burdened [with sickness, toil, fighting the devil, etc]: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.   

We long to be made immortal and to live where Jesus went to prepare a place for us, not for an earthly kingdom, if we’ve been born again and abiding faithful to love God with all our heart, mind, strength and soul.

Joh 14:2  In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. Joh 14:3  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
Joh 14:4  And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.

Joh_20:17  Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father

Act 1:9  And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. Act 1:10  And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;
Act 1:11  Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

Jesus didn’t go secretly to prepare a place for us in earthly Jerusalem; he went to HEAVEN.

1Th 4:13  But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep [dead in Christ], that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
1Th 4:14  For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so [in the same way] them also which sleep in Jesus [in the grave] will God bring with him [up to heaven].
1Th 4:15  For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain [on earth] until the coming of the Lord shall not prevent [go (up to heaven) before] them which are asleep [in the grave].

1Th 4:16  For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the [last] trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
1Th 4:17  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

1Co 15:5  And he [Jesus] was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: 
1Co_15:6  After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.

Some who witnessed Christ rise had died before Paul wrote 1Cor. They “sleep in Jesus” to this day.

Joh 6:39  And this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.
Joh 6:40  And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.
Joh 6:44  No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.
Joh 6:54  Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.

In these verses in John 6, Jesus clearly says he will raise his followers up on the LAST DAY, (not 7 or 3 1/2 years before the last day). This then will be the day when believers are changed from mortal to immortal, not the same day they die, as many have been taught.

Joh 5:28  Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which ALL that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
Joh 5:29  And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation. [same day]

Dan_12:2  And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. [same day]

Not only will Jesus come on the last day, but he will raise EVERYONE who ever lived out of their grave then, and everyone will be judged THAT SAME DAY. SO THE LAST DAY IS ALL OF THESE: LAST TRUMP DAY, RESURRECTION DAY, AND JUDGMENT DAY.

Rev 20:11  And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. [2Pet 3]
Rev 20:12  And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
Rev 20:13  And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
Rev 20:14  And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
Rev 20:15  And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

So then nobody goes directly to heaven or hell the day they die. We will sleep in the grave until the last day, unless we’re still alive when Jesus comes in his glory with the angels.

Mat 16:27  For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.

I’ve found lots of opportunity to respond to dead faith professing Christians who teach contrary to the gospel. One of them once claimed that “the Holy Spirit is not in a believer”  if he “adds” verbs to the gospel, like “baptize” or “repent”, or if he confesses his faith with his mouth.

But let’s see if Jesus or the apostles commanded any of these things he called “adding” to the gospel:

Repentance:

Mat 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Mar 1:14 Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,
15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

Mar 6:7 And he (Jesus) called unto him the twelve, and began to send them forth by two and two; and gave them power over unclean spirits;
11 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.
12 And they went out, and preached that men should repent.

Here we see that it will be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrah on judgment day, than for a person who rejects Christ’s command to repent.

Luk 13:2 And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galileans were sinners above all the Galileans, because they suffered such things?
3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
4 Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?
5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

Luk 5:32 I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

Luk 15:7 I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.

Luk 24:47 Repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

Water Baptism

Mat 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Mar 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

The gospel of the Kingdom of God/Heaven/Christ is for people of ALL nations, not just for Jews!

16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

John 3:22 After these things came Jesus and his disciples into the land of Judea; and there he tarried with them, and baptized.

John 4:1 The Lord knew how the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John

Luk 7:30 But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God against themselves, being not baptized of him.

Well, we see Jesus many times said to repent and to be baptized, and that the hypocrites rejected His command to be baptized. Did He say men should speak their faith aloud?

Confession with one’s mouth

Mat 10:32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.

Mat 16:13 Jesus asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?
14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.
15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

Jesus isn’t content with only a private, non-verbal faith.

Rom 10:6 But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise… that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

So we see from the above that confession with one’s mouth is part of saving faith.
So are they saved who will only say that Jesus is a “good man”, or a “prophet”? Don’t Muslims say that, as they deny Jesus is the Messiah, and the Lamb of God?

1Jn 2:22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
Were there some that would not confess Jesus as the Messiah?

John 12:42 Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue:
43 For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.

Now let’s see if the apostles continued preaching repent and be baptized and confess Jesus is Lord AFTER Jesus rose from the dead:

The apostles taught all men to
Repent and be Baptized:

Act 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

(Remember, Paul, in Rom 8:9, said anyone who doesn’t have the Spirit of Christ doesn’t belong to Christ. Peter, in Acts 5:32 said God gives the Holy Ghost to all who OBEY Him. In John 14:15-24, Jesus said that the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, comes and lives in those who KEEP His commandments. God TOOK His Spirit from King Saul because of his willful disobedience 1Sam 16:14; 2Sam 7:15, and we’re warned to take heed lest we too depart from God and get rejected like Saul, Esau, and others did in Heb 3:12-14, 1Cor 10:1-12; Matt 5:13, 2Pet 2:20-22; Rom 11:20-22; Heb 12:15-17; 1Tim 4:1; Matt 24:4,23,24; Eph 5:6)

Act 2:41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

Here’s Peter again:

Act 3:19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord

Act 8:35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture (Is 53), and preached unto (the eunuch) Jesus.
36 And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? (Who hinders water baptism, today? Acts 13:9-10)
37 And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
38 And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.
39 And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing.

We see from the previous passage that believing in the true gospel of Jesus Christ CAUSED the eunuch to desire water baptism.

Act 8:13 Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done.

But Peter said this to Simon after Simon was baptized:

Act 8:22 Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.
23 For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity.

 

Act 10:47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?
48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord.

Act 16:15 And when (Lydia, who worshipped God, upon hearing Paul’s gospel, obeyed) was baptized, and her household, she besought us, saying, If ye have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and abide there. And she constrained us.

This faithful woman Lydia had no problem asking Paul to judge her faith and invite him to stay a while! Only the lukewarm will whine “You shouldn’t judge other people’s faith”… and that’s because they know in their own heart that they are not faithful, and can’t endure sound judgment.
Act 16:29 Then (the jailer) called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas, (why didn’t Paul tell him to stop trembling?)

Act 16:30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?

Why didn’t Paul give him the council that most pastors give inquirers today: “There’s nothing you can do; Jesus did it all”?

31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
32 And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house.
Act 16:33 And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway.

This jailer believed the gospel Paul preached, so he and his whole family got baptized that same hour of the NIGHT! Had Paul preached the same gospel that most preach today, this man would NOT have gotten baptized! He would have been content with a dead faith!

Act 18:8 And Crispus, the chief ruler of the synagogue, believed on the Lord with all his house; and many of the Corinthians hearing believed, and were baptized.

Believing in Jesus and getting baptized was then, and still is today, always synonymous.

Paul was baptized:

Act 22:16 (Ananias said to Paul) And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.
Act 9:18 And immediately there fell from his (Paul’s) eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.

After Paul was baptized in water, didn’t he preach the same gospel Peter preached? Didn’t Paul say God requires repentance the same way Peter did?

Act 17:22 Then Paul said…
30 For a time God winked at ignorance; but now commands all men everywhere to repent
Act 20:20 And how I (Paul) kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publicly, and from house to house,
21 Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

Was repentance only for the Jews, but faith alone for the Gentiles?

Paul preached the same gospel to both the Jews and the Gentiles!

Paul heard Jesus tell him to go preach the gospel (not a distinctly new gospel that no one had before preached), and he was not disobedient:

Act 26:20 But I showed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.

Even John the Baptist preached the gospel of repentance and water baptism!

Paul found some believers in Jesus who had not been baptized in Jesus’ name…

Act 19:4 Then said Paul, “John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus”.
5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

Act 8:12 But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.

So we see that believers needed to both repent and be baptized in Jesus’ name by faith in Jesus to be accepted of God.

Paul personally baptized some people:

1Co 1:16 And I baptized also the household of Stephanas: besides, I know not whether I baptized any other.

…but his main mission was to preach the gospel while others performed the baptisms. Jesus did the same thing:

Joh 4:2 (Though Jesus himself baptized not, but his disciples,)

Rom 2:4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?

2Co 7:9 Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner…
10 For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.

2Ti 2:25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;
26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

A time to repent is granted by God to all men, so we must take advantage of it while it’s still available. Remember Lot’s wife.

2Pe 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

We see from this next verse in Hebrews that repentance is part of the FOUNDATION of faith toward God:

Heb 6:1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God

Even Jesus, after His resurrection and ascent to Heaven, commands further repentance from believers.
Rev 2:4 Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.

Rev 2:5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.
21 And I gave her (Jezebel, a falsed prophtess) space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not.
22 Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.
23 And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.
14 But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam…
15 So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate.
16 Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.
17 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches

Rev 3:1 … I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead.
2 Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God.
3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.
4 Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.
5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
6 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

So we see that repenting as needed is required in order to overcome and not to be blotted out.

1. Confess with the mouth:

Php 2:10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Rom 15:9 And that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy; as it is written, For this cause I will confess to thee among the Gentiles, and sing unto thy name.

1Jn 4:15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.

2Jn 1:7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ [the messiah] is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

“Jesus” means “he shall save his people from their sins”. So actually, “Jesus” means “messiah”, for that was to be what the Messiah would come to do.

Mat 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

Jesus is the Christ. An antichrist will not confess that the Christ is come as the man Jesus.

Remember we read that Jesus said that whosoever would confess him before men, He would confess them before his Father and before His angels? He also said:

Rev 3:5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

This verse compliments Matt 10:32, showing that to confess Jesus is partially how a person overcomes so he doesn’t get his name blotted out of the book of life.

Mat 10:32  Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. 

Did Paul deny that believers must confess their faith with their mouth?

Rom 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

It appears Paul did not deny it. So from what both Jesus and Paul said, confessing one’s faith with mouth aloud is part of believing.

“Once saved always saved”?

Many (like Charles Stanley, David Jeremiah, D. James Kennedy [deceased], John MacArthur, Billy Graham, Adrian Rogers [deceased] ), insist that “the gospel” teaches eternal security from the point one “believes in Jesus”. Does the Bible really teach this? Is confessing Jesus as Lord with one’s mouth alone sufficient to save a person?

Mat 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Because Jesus said “I never knew you”, many say that these workers of iniquity had never been saved. It is true that some who have cast out devils, done many mighty works, and prophesied in Christ’s name never have been saved, since many who do such things have never obeyed the gospel which they claim to believe. But a close examination of parallel verses shows that even those who had once known Jesus are warned that the same may be said to them as will be said to those who were never saved, if they fail to ABIDE in Christ:

Luke 13:23 Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them,
24 Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.
25 When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are:
26 Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets.
27 But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.

Note that Jesus, in Matt 25, will say to the foolish virgins “I know you not” rather than “I never knew you”, but their end will be the same as the goats – the lake of fire.

Mat 25:10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.
12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.
13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

If we are “once saved ALWAYS saved”, by a mere moment of past faith, as many insist, then what need would there be to “watch”, or to “strive to enter in at the straight gate”, or to “overcome”, or to “resist the devil” or to “take heed” to anything Jesus said? Doesn’t the teaching which assures a person that he can’t lose salvation if he had once believed in Jesus (even for a mere moment) actually encourage him to sin and not to worry about it, since, they say, he won’t go to the lake of fire, but only “lose rewards” in heaven? Who (that doesn’t love Jesus with all his/her heart) really cares about “losing rewards” so long as they make it into heaven, anyway?

Mat 7:24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and that house fell: and great was the fall of it.

Jos 6:18 And ye, in any wise keep yourselves from the accursed thing, lest ye make yourselves accursed, when ye take of the accursed thing, and make the camp of Israel a curse, and trouble it.

Jud 1:20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

1Jn 5:21 Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.

Amo 4:2  The Lord GOD hath sworn by his holiness, that, lo, the days shall come upon you, that he will take you away with hooks, and your posterity [followers] with fishhooks.

Job 41:7  Canst thou fill LEVIATHON’S [the beast] skin with barbed irons? or his head with fish spears?

 The word here rendered “fish-spears” (צלצל  tselâtsal) means properly a “tinkling, clanging,
[1 Cor 13:1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding [clanging] brass, or a tinkling cymbal.]
The Septuagint renders this strangely, referring it to the “Phenicians,” or MERCHANTS mentioned in the previous verse:
 
Job 41:6  Shall the companions make a banquet of him? shall they part him among the merchants?

 [ Can the merchant’s lies bring a “beast” down as fish hooks catch fish?]

Definition of a “beast” in scripture:

Psa_49:12  Nevertheless man being in honour abideth not: he is like the beasts that perish.
Psa_49:20  Man that is in honour, and understandeth not, is like the beasts that perish.
2Pe_2:12  But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption
1Co_15:32  I have fought with beasts at Ephesus
Mat 7:6  Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine
Mat 23:33  Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?
 Rev 22:15  For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.
Isa 56:10  His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber.
11  Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are shepherds that cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter.

Amo 4:1  Hear this word, ye kine of Bashan, that are in the mountain of Samaria, which oppress the poor, which crush the needy [demanding tithes and offerings]
Amo 4:2  The Lord GOD hath sworn by his holiness, that, lo, the days shall come upon you, that he will take you away with hooks, and your posterity with fishhooks
Amo 4:4 [I know that you will] Come to Bethel [churches], and transgress; at Gilgal multiply transgression; and bring your [unacceptable] sacrifices every morning, and your tithes after three years:
Amo 4:5  And offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving with leaven, and proclaim and publish the free offerings: for this liketh you, O ye children of Israel, saith the Lord GOD.

[They love to offer God self willed, unacceptable ‘tithes’, instead of offering their body a holy, living sacrifice [Rom 12:1,2], so they can feel good about continuing in their sins, worshipping their sports idols, their government/military idol, their entertainment idol, and their money god.  “No meat offering, which ye shall bring unto the Lord, shall be made with leaven, for ye shall burn no leaven in an offering of the Lord made by fire” (Lev_2:11;  Lev_6:17).]
Amo 4:6  And I also have given you cleanness of teeth [famine] in all your cities, and want of bread in all your places:

[God made the churches to see the gross hypocrisy of their leaders, who had hidden their sodomy, child abuse, and covetousness, waste, and self aggrandizement for years]

ALL of the merchants of lies promised the unfaithful peace and safety IN THEIR SINS, which is as damning as affixing the mark on their right hand or forehead, if it isn’t exactly that.]

Amo 5:18  Woe unto you that desire the day of the LORD! to what end is it for you? the day of the LORD is darkness, and not light.

Amo 5:21  I hate, I despise your feast days, and I will not smell in your solemn assemblies.

Amo 5:22  Though ye offer me burnt offerings and your meat offerings, I will not accept them: neither will I regard the peace offerings of your fat beasts.

[Their church programs, tithes and offerings are as unacceptable as if one sacrificed on an altar of brick or hewn stone. {which God forbade}]

Isa 66:1  Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest?

[their merchants SELL THE LIE THAT EVERYONE WAS BORN A SINNER, TOTALLY DEPRAVED, AND CANNOT CEASE FROM SIN, EVEN AFTER BEING SAVED, AND THE UNFAITHFUL FOOLISH VIRGINS LOVE TO HEAR IT, BECAUSE IT MAKES THEM FEEL GOOD IN THEIR CONTINUED SINNING! Christ is made of no effect to them, but they don’t care! They love it!]

Jer 5:30  A thing causing wonder; a horrible thing is committed in the land;
Jer 5:31  The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love to have it so: and what will ye do in the end thereof? ]

Isa 1:17  Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.

[They teach lies in Christ’s name, refusing to separate the holy from the profane.]

Isa 1:23  Thy princes [leaders] are rebellious, and companions of thieves [covetous liars; greedy dogs who can never have enough]: every one loveth gifts, and followeth after rewards: they judge not the fatherless, neither doth the cause of the widow come unto them.
Isa 1:24  Therefore saith the Lord, the LORD of hosts, the mighty One of Israel, Ah, I will ease me of mine adversaries, and avenge me of mine enemies:
Isa 1:25  And I will turn my hand upon thee, and purely purge away thy dross, and take away all thy tin:

Isa 1:29  For they shall be ashamed of the oaks [strong leaders/merchants] which ye have desired, and ye shall be confounded for the gardens that ye have chosen.

[Mat 15:13  Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up.]

Isa 1:30  For ye shall be as an oak whose leaf fadeth, and as a garden that hath no water.
Isa 1:31  And the strong shall be as tow, and the maker of the profane garden as a spark, and they shall both burn together, and none shall quench them.

SAVE YOURSELF

2 Kings 6:10 And the king of Israel sent to the place which the man of God told him and warned him of, and saved himself [8104] there, not once nor twice.

Notice what we find Strong says where we read someone saved himself 8104

How often do we hear You can’t save yourself! Jesus did it all? But Jesus, Peter, Paul, John, James and Jude all told us in so many words to save ourselves by taking heed to the Word of God.

Act 2:37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

Notice that Peter did not give these men the answer which so many pastors and lukewarm (professing) Christians give to people today, who would ask the same question! He did NOT tell them There’s nothing you can do! Jesus did it all! You can’t add to the finished work of the cross!

Act 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Act 2:40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.
Act 2:41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

Did not these honest seekers of salvation save themselves by obeying the gospel? It’s the WORD that saves those who gladly receive it, isn’t? So by receiving the Word, they DID save themselves as Peter taught them to do.

1Ti 4:16  Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.
Mar 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
Mat 24:4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
Jas 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

Does the Word save those who reject it? Do not they damn themselves by choosing not to DO it? Will not God judge every man according to the works he chooses to do or not to do?

Jas 1:21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.

James sure never told the church there’s nothing you can do!

The Universalist insists that no one will be lost. He denies anyone can choose to save himself, since he denies anyone will be lost and cast into the lake of fire.

IF Jesus did it all, then wouldn’t EVERYONE be saved? If there is nothing you can do, as many assert, then either:

1. no one is given the opportunity to repent and obey Jesus,
or
2. that neither repentance or obedience are necessary, and Peter’s answer was WRONG!

If there’s nothing you do, then Jesus wasted His breath when He said:

  Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Mat 7:21
If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it. Luk 9:24
Luk 9:25 For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself (lose his own soul Mat 16:26), or be cast away?
Isn’t Jesus saying here how we must save ourselves so that we don’t lose our own soul and become cast away? Is it not by losing our lives that we save our lives?

It appears clear from Lk 9:25 and Matthew 16:26 that a person may become rich in this world and lose his own soul and become a castaway. Isn’t Jesus warning against doing this? Then there IS something we can and must do to be saved according to Jesus. Most are taught to reject Christ’s teachings, which are derided as a “works gospel” or a “works based salvation”.

Tit 1:16  They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

How can a living, working, obedient faith in the words of Jesus deny the atonement Jesus accomplished on the cross?

Jas 2:14  What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can [dead] faith save him?
Jas 2:26  For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
Luk 9:26 For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father’s, and of the holy angels.

If we say there’s nothing we can do, aren’t we ashamed of Christ’s words, which tell us what we MUST do to save ourselves? If we’re ashamed of all Christ’s and His apostle’s warnings, and of every ‘if’ (which shows that every promise is conditional), how shall we stand before the Father and the angels on judgment day, when we will give account for every word we spoke and every act we did?

If we deny Him, He will also deny us. If we don’t believe that truth because we’ve made a covenant with death by believing once saved always saved, will that lie we’ve chosen to hide behind change God’s mind, and will He deny Himself, and not be faithful to DO what He said He would do to those who deny Him?

2Ti 2:12 If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:
2Ti 2:13 If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.
Isa 30:1 Woe to the rebellious children, saith the LORD, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin
Isa 30:3 Therefore shall the strength of Egypt [the flesh] be your shame, and the trust in the shadow of Pharoah[men] your confusion.

The “strength of Egypt” are the lies of the unsaved and hypocrites. It is confusion. The rebellious embrace this foolish and carnal counsel, and hide behind it like an ostrich with her head in a hole. It is a false sense of security. They add sin to sin, deceived into believing God can’t see their sins.

Eze 9:9 Then said he unto me, The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceeding great, and the land is full of blood, and the city full of perverseness: for they say, The LORD hath forsaken the earth, and the LORD seeth not.
2Tim 3:5 They only appear to have a godly life, but they will not let the power of godly living change them. Stay away from such people.
2Co 11:13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ.
2Co 11:14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is disguised as an angel of light.
2Co 11:15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be disguised as ministers of righteousness; but their end will be according to their works.
2Co 11:4 (GNB) For you gladly tolerate anyone who comes to you and preaches a different Jesus, not the one we preached; and you foolishly accept a spirit and a gospel completely different from the Spirit and the gospel you received from us!

Gal 3:1  O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, after you clearly understood that Jesus Christ had been crucified?

Both the Galatians and the Corinthians were failing to save themselves from the lies of the false teachers. Similarly, this is also a great problem in most churches today. Many think they should be ‘nice’, and not confront false teachers and known sinners, or demand that they speak only scriptural doctrine and live godly. They let being ‘nice’ be their standard of conduct rather than the commands of Christ and the apostles, which tell us to forsake such an apostate.

Friend, SAVE YOURSELF from the lameness of being nice to false teachers and their lukewarm followers, and GET OUT OF those apostate churches, even if it means forsaking friends, relatives, a job, a wife, children, father, mother, opportunities, whatever. If your hand (deeds) cause you to offend God, CUT IT OFF AND CAST IT FROM YOU; it’s better to enter life without giving the right hand of fellowship to them than to hear Jesus tell you on that day “DEPART FROM ME, ALL YOU WHO WORK INIQUITY”, and be cast into hell, where the worm dies not and the fire is not quenched.

Jesus said His mother, brothers, and sisters are only those who hear God’s Word and DO it, not just for a moment, but who endure sound doctrine, persecution, and hardships to the end. If we won’t hear and do what Jesus said: to separate from those who would interfere with His commandments and cause people to trust in a lie; to let them alone; to “come out of her my people, that you be not partakers of her sins, that you receive not of her plagues”, then we are but bastards, having forsaken being God’s sons or daughters. We MUST save ourselves from the ungodly; we MUST come out from among them and be separate, and touch not the unclean thing for God to receive us and be our Father.

This is no Sunday game or Saturday sport. Jesus hates lukewarmness; He said He will spew them out of His body who refuse to repent, and remain lukewarm.

1Ti 4:16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.

I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead.
Rev 3:2 Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God.
Rev 3:3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.

Rev 3:18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
Rev 3:19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
Rev 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

Jesus certainly never told any of these churches: There’s nothing you can do! I paid it all! You can’t add to the finished work done on the cross! Any works you do would only be a lame attempt to do so! You’re not under any law! I died to set you free from every law, even from every commandment I gave! You can’t do what I commanded, that’s why I had to go to the cross!

Paul said:
1Ti 6:3 If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;
1Ti 6:4 He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,
1Ti 6:5 Perverse disputing of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

We MUST save ourselves from this untoward generation.

Some individuals or denominations hold to a statement of faith similar to this:

    “  We Don’t Believe:
    1. The “Works” Gospel
    they claim: No amount of our own work can make us acceptable to God and get us into heaven. Our works are like filthy rags (stinky, menstrual pads) to God (Isaiah 64:6; Eph 2:8-10)”

I respond to such a statement: Contrary to the teaching of the IC [institutional church], all good works are not “our own righteousness”, neither are they all “filthy wrags”!
To begin with, FAITH is a WORK!
These verses certainly do not condemn doing good, or place good works in the”filthy menstral wrag” catagory:

Joh 6:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

Mat 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Mat 3:10  And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

Act 9:36 …A certain disciple named Tabitha, called Dorcas: was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did.

Rom 13:3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same.

Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Rom 2:6  God will render to every man according to his deeds:

The false [antichrist] gospel presented in the apostate denominations today is one that justifies continued evil works, while it condemns the true gospel that demands repentance as a “works gospel”. Eze 13:22  Because with lies ye have made the heart of the righteous sad, whom I have not made sad; and strengthened the hands of the wicked, that he should not return from his wicked way, by promising him life.  According to this popular false gospel, just so long as you confess that you are a sinner, and believe that you will ALWAYS BE a sinner, you are accepted as saved/born again/ and filled with the Holy Spirit. But once you deny the foundation of this false gospel (original sin), and say with scripture that no one is BORN in sin (Ezek 18:20), you are condemned as a heretic, and they say you don’t believe the gospel, and therefore have not been saved. Original sin is the foundation of Augustine’s false, Gnostic gospel, which claims that men are totally depraved and incapable of obeying God. It is the root of why the IC fellowships with, & allows all kinds of sinners to take communion and be called brethren in Christ, when they are not in Christ at all, even if they once were. Jesus said Repent or perish, but the IC says just confess you’re a sinner and say a little prayer with the pastor; claim you “believe” in Jesus, and you’re saved, and can never lose salvation, even if you become  exceedingly wicked [“you can’t outsin the grace of GOD “they chant. This is why so many drunks, rolling in their own vomit, think they’re saved. They have been deceived by the very missions who think they are saving them.(Jud 1:4)  For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.Eze 13:22  Because with lies ye have made the heart of the righteous sad, whom I have not made sad; and strengthened the hands of the wicked, that he should not return from his wicked way, by promising him life.
