Though many say “There’s nothing YOU can do; Jesus did it all”, the following verses prove that teaching FALSE.

John 5:28… The hour comes when all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, 29 And shall come forth (to be judged); they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

There is no HINT of rewards given AFTER one gets to heaven in this passage! Jesus CLEARLY says that: If a person DOES GOOD he will receive eternal life, and if he DOES EVIL he is damned! What we DO determines whether we inherit the Kingdom of God or the lake of fire.

(2Co 5:10) For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. Therefore, knowing the terror of the Lord, we persuade men… (to labor to be accepted of God ~v 9)

(Ecc 12:14) For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

Hos 4:9 And there shall be, like people, like priest: and I will punish them for their ways, and reward them their doings.

Heb 10:30 For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongs unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.

Job 31:4 Doth not He see my ways, and count all my steps?

If God saw JOB’S every step, why do most pastors claim that He can’t see all of yours?

Lam 3:64 Render unto them a recompense, O LORD, according to the work of their hands.

Mat 6:12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.14 For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: 15 But if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

2Sam 22:26 With the merciful You will show Yourself merciful, and with the upright man You will show Yourself upright. 27 With the pure You will show Yourself pure; and with the froward You will show Yourself unsavory.

Mat 18:23 Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants.

24 And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents.

25 But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.

26 The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.

27 Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt. (Is there any doubt that this man WAS SAVED from his debt?)

28 But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him about 15 dollars (which, in those days, could buy 10 donkeys): and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, “Pay me what you owe me.”

29 And his fellowservant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, “Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.”

30 And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt.

31 So when his fellowservants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done.

32 Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O you wicked servant, I forgave you all that debt, because you asked me to:

33 Should not you also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on you? (We are RESPONSIBLE and ACCOUNTABLE to forgive!)

34 And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.

35 So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.

Many say that if a person departs from the faith, gets spewed out of Christ’s mouth, fails to overcome, hardens his heart and forsakes God, he was “never really saved to begin with”. But the undeniable fact is, this passage says that the man who was called a “wicked servant” was “delivered to the tormentors” because he HAD been forgiven, yet he chose not to forgive. So does this agree with the teaching that says “All your past, PRESENT AND FUTURE sins are ALREADY FORGIVEN”, or the one that claims that “You will NOT be judged by your works, since you’ve ALREADY BEEN JUDGED”?

Mar 11:25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.

26 But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.

11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.

12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.

Ecc 11:9 Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let your heart cheer you in the days of your youth, and walk in the ways of your heart, and in the sight of your eyes: but know this, that for all these things God will bring you into judgment. (So FLEE youthful lusts!)

Eze 18:24 But when the righteous turns away from his righteousness, and commits iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die.

13 For he shall have judgment without mercy upon those who performed no mercy; and mercy rejoices against judgment.

37 For by your words you shall be justified, and by your words you shall be condemned.

1Ki 3:6 And Solomon said, Thou hast shewed unto thy servant David my father great mercy, according as he walked before thee in truth, and in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with thee; and thou hast kept for him this great kindness, that thou hast given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day.

According to Your Works You Will Be Judged.

  1. Thanks for this list. The mistake people make is to confuse works and deeds. I use the NASB and it makes the distinction clear: The “works of the law” are the rituals of the Law of Moses, such as circumcision. We will be judged by our “deeds.”

  2. I’m just now encountering this blog while doing a study (as a fundamentalist leaning towards converting to Catholicism) about the truth of salvation, and what is required for it. I accept that faith and works is what is required for salvation, per the Bible (shown in your great collection of verses here) and the teaching of the Church (the Catholic Church). I just wanted to bring to light that your stance (proved by this collection of verses) is indeed not a Protestant one, but rather a Catholic one. As someone edging towards converting as more and more truth is brought out of the darkness that is Protestantism, I implore you to dig deeper into the truth for yourself, and see what you find. Catholicism and Fundamentalism by Karl Keating is a great book that could help you in your adventure for the truth.

    • I am not a Calvinist. Calvinism’s roots are deeply entrenched in Augustine, a Catholic, so it’s not as “protestant” as one might think. It was a successful attempt (as modern interpolation of prophecy is) of Catholic infiltration into protestantism to undermine and overthrow it. But nothing can overthrow the truth. The darkness and heinous acts of the Catholic inquision were the seed of the true church. The more Christians the monsters tortured and killed, the more martyrs were willing to die for the truth of Christ. Come out of her my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, that ye receive not of her plagues” still rings loud and clear to honest hearts who see that the popes are but a string of wicked, lying antichrists, willing to live like kings while robbing the poor.

  3. Nicely done, I am a christian and I have always felt that god is a supremely logical being and it being obvious that many have come and gone on this earth without hearing of christ, we are to be judged by our actions, words and thoughts and beliefs, its the complete package, nobody gets a free pass just cause “they believed”. Do not judge, forgive, do not bear grudges, keep the commandments and do onto others. I walk through my life knowing my afterlife is not sealed, these people out in the world selling insurance policies on the afterlife have got it wrong, we all face death, and we will all be judged on our complete person, not a single aspect.

    • Amen, Brian. Many take “ye shall not surly die” to their pulpit because it’s a top seller. They speak smooth things to itching ears; to hearts unwilling to hear God’s loving, saving reproof. Such half-hearts will hire only those who can eloquently make the FEEL GOOD about their sinful selves, but they detest those who speak the solemn, hard sayings of God, which require repentance and faith, and warn against lukewarmness and compromise with evil.

  4. Nice compilation

  5. Just out of curiosity, Upon personnal evaluation do you think God will accept you for your works?

    • Either my works are acceptable to God, or else, without respect of persons, He rejects me as he does any goat.
